Mitsumi Iris Valves are highly effective when used as pass through (diaphragm) valves in isolation environments like clean rooms, lab chambers, blasting booths, and others. Mitsumi’s high-strength but flexible rope and sleeves form an airtight seal around any shaped tubing or piping. When not in use the valve can be completely closed to maintain an airtight and dust-free environment. And the valves lock and unlock with a simple 90° turn, which makes rerunning conduits a breeze.
The sleeve is set in a flange on the valve casing with choke ropes running in parallel between the two rings of the casing. Turning the handle 90° rotates the ropes so they close the sleeve and form a complete seal.
